Pining for Disney

Whenever I see the Disney Introduction it makes me that little bit sad in the happiest of ways. Kind of like a trigger to a flood of emotion that comes pouring out of me and all at once I can see a thousand memories in my head associated with this one theme.

Viva Las Vegas

In July of this year, my dearest mother gave me one of the finest gifts I've ever received for a Birthday- a ticket to Las Vegas. Now I've never really had a fascination with going to Vegas, it was always a "If it's on the way" kind of destination for me. Two nights in the city where the lights are bright and the thrills are cheap changed that ideal for me forever!

Vegas is one of those cities that has to be experienced to be believed. From the moment we touched down at the airport, it felt like I had entered some kind of Virtual Reality where time doesn't exist and outside titles didn't apply, in Vegas you can be whoever you want to be for a little while.

For our hotel we chose to stay at Circus Circus- mostly because this is the hotel they filmed 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' in and we are suckers for gimmicks like that. You could spend a week in Vegas and never leave your hotel, they have everything in them- Casino's, Restuarants, Shops, Theme Parks, Bars & Clubs.

From an Eifel Tower to a Statue of Liberty- Vegas has a little bit of the world all rolled into one strip. Even if you don't like gambling, just walking around the Casinos and watching people is entertainment in itself.

It's an amazing, surreal city that everyone should visit at least once in their life. I'll be back one day for sure!

Saturday As Usual

Saturday night I went over to Sinead, Liam and Sam's new place- They had just moved in that day! After christening the new place with a few drinks, we decided to head out to The Painted Lady, but after an hour I started feeling pretty sleepy, so Sinead and Me went for a night cap at The Communist Daughter and then home for some sweet dreams. Incidentally I dreamed about Pee Wee Herman, of all things...

Last night Sinead popped over just as I had started to run myself a bath and asked if I felt like going for some cheap Margarita's up the road. With only $10 to last me until pay day I decided why the hell not!

We went to a place called Tortilla Flats on Queen Street. Pleasant Thursday evening indeed.

How to Dance With Style

Last Saturday I went out to celebrate Sinead's Birthday. Since it was her big day I asked what she wanted to do, anything at all- and she said "I feel like dancing", so it was off to the once a month Chronological Dance Party
that happens at The Boat Restaurant.

They play music from the turn of the century (or there's about), right up to music from today. It's the kind of place where once you get on the dance floor, you won't be leaving for a very long time, just because the music is so fun to dance to!
