The Favourite Game

When I moved into my new apartment in Toronto, there was a fully stocked book shelve waiting for me to search through and find some hidden gems. That is where I came across 'The Favourite Game' by Leonard Cohen. From the first page I could tell I was reading something pretty special.

The story follows Lawrence Breaveman, a Jewish-Canadian, through his youth growing up in Montreal to his early manhood when he eventually flee's to New York and meets Shell. It reads almost like a Memoir/ Coming of age/ Love Story, yet it really isn't any of those.

The Favourite Game is by far one of the most beautiful books I have read in the longest time.

They Say It's Your Birthday

This Weekend I shall be celebrating the birthday of one of the finest people I know! Sinead and me have been friends since were both pubescent teenagers starting Highschool with unshaven legs, no make-up on our faces and jeans that were so flared they should be illegal.
Happy Happy Birthday Dear Sinead!

All Hallow's Eve

Last Saturday we went out to Celebrate Halloween! Me and Sinead decided to go as Japanese Ghost, we found most of our outfits from China town- including some very cool Fresh Kon contacts that made our eyes look big and shiny. The night started with drinks at the Owl's Nest, where there is always a constant battle for who gets to play DJ. Then we left for a few parties around town just before the clock struck 11pm, where wicked good fun was had by all.

Meow Meow's

I am a big cat lover, although travelling around the world, I have not been able to have a kitty of my own for quite some time. Lucky for me, the world is full of my feline friends, here are a few cats I have met on my travels...

This is Misty, my friend Sinead's cat from Perth, Australia. She is over 13 years old so she is getting a little senile- but sooo adorable.

This is a cat that me and my sister had the pleasure of spending the early hours of a morning playing with whilst we were walking through Trout Lake in Vancouver, Canada.

This adorable little fellow was an alley cat in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

This was perhaps the fattest cat I have ever seen in real life, he was very affectionate and sweet. He sits at the entrance to a shop in Soho, New York.

A Memory Best Forgotten

I'm a pretty nolstagic person a lot of the time. Sometimes I don't even know what I'm getting nolstagic about, I just get this weird feeling in my stomach like something- a time, a place, a person has come to pass through my life and no matter what I do, this something will now only exsist in my memory- my own personal collection of scenes from my life, which are on constant replay in my head. Sometimes it makes me happy, sometimes it makes me sad.

For the latter reason, sometimes I wish I had no memory, but more woke each day with a clean slate in which I could rebuild some beautiful memories to soon be forgotten, so it wouldn't make me sad remembering them.

A Day in Niagra

Last Weekend me and Sinead decided to go to Niagra for one day. We caught the bus down in the morning from Chinatown and thus began the day. Once we arrived we decided to head on down to the Falls, it was amazing to see a natural spectacle like the Falls in real life, leaves you kind of breathless. After lunch we decided that we were feeling lucking enough to go to the Casino, but luck was not on our side for the day, we both left empty handed, and before we knew it the bus was leaving back to Toronto!

Waiting for the bus... We listened to music all the way down, which always makes time fly...

It was Autumn in Niagra, which made it all the beautiful...

The Falls...

Sinead's Niagra Dance...

We decided to eat before we headed to the Casino...

We finally arrived at the Casino...

But no big wins, meant we had to resort to stealing from the wish fountain (-;

Soon it was time to board the bus and head on home, it was a wonderful day in a beautiful town!
