Saturday In St Kilda

On Saturday I woke up to a clear blue sky and so decided it was a perfect day to be spent walking around in the sunshine and to take my new camera on it's first adventure. So with that in mind, Emmily and me headed to St Kilda for the first time since we moved to Melbourne.

St Kilda is such a pretty place with it's sea side views, towering palm trees and it's unique architecture. I love how Melbourne seems to have so many different areas that each have their own distinct style and personality. So lovely!

It was terribly windy on the esplanade

We headed to Luna Park to indulge with...

...some funny mirrors...

...some rides...

...and some games.

After one too many rides left us feeling a bit queasy, we decided it was time for some lunch...

...some delicious sushi and Asahi beers.

Before heading into the city for a little while. Lovely Saturday.

Leica Love

This past Saturday started out like any ordinary Saturday. I woke up feeling a little shady as a result from the previous nights thrilling activities, I enjoyed my morning coffee and headed into the city to indulge in some tasty lunch.

But little did I realize that I would be coming home with a new best friend- my darling new Leica camera, Otis. After years of pining after that little red dot, I now have begun what will be a long and happy relationship into the magical world of Leica.

Lovely, just lovely!

Sunshine, Scents & Polka Dots

Bonjour Lads and Lassies, I do hope you have had a spectacular weekend!

This morning when I finally pulled myself out of bed, I could see from my sixth floor bedroom window that there was a creative group of folks doing a photo-shoot on the ground level, which brought to my attention the dire need to do something like this myself soon. I have been daydreaming up ideas for fun photography projects for the last few months and have decided it is definitely time to soon bring one of these ideas to light.

But enough about that for now, lets take a look at how my Saturday looked when Emmily and myself headed to the Victoria Markets for a stroll around the various stalls in search of something lovely...

I decided this house on the way looked like something from a time long ago.

Then we arrived at the markets...

...which was full of a mixture of the kind of mostly unnecessary trinkets that markets are usually full of.

Pop rocks, chocolate and fizz galore.

Emmily picked up a new scent- Yellow Diamonds by Versace.

And I brought this shirt, which makes me feel like I could be the fifth member of The Monkee's.
Lovely Saturday.

A Small Introduction to Melbourne

I should mention that since we last spoke back in November, I am now living in Melbourne and so far things are going swimmingly! It's so nice to live in a city where there's always something to do and the sound of the city traffic is like a night time lullaby to my ears.

So let us take a look now at how Saturday night looked for me this long Easter weekend, when I headed to Luwow Bar and Bar Open in Fitzroy with Emmily and our new friend Jadrian.

A Search for Lost Inspiration

Whilst sitting up in my bed tonight in the wee hours of morning, listening to the outside passing traffic and waiting for sleep to come, I was struck with a sudden pang of longing.

After much consideration of where this feeling was coming from, I realized that it was the spark of inspiration that has been all but gone from my life these last few months. You see for a while now, longer then I care to admit, I have felt no creativity in my bones. I have wanted to write, to take photographs, to make videos, to decorate my apartment, to meet interesting people, to dance- I have wanted to create things like I use to, but I have lost the feeling of how to, the internal pleasure I once got from it.

I have spent months trying to get the feeling back, I have tried to force myself to write and to take photographs, but there has been no lusture behind them, no excitement- souless tripe! I have watched films, listened to songs, looked through countless art work of all varieties and read books, all in an attempt to find that lost inspiration- to no avail.

So how peculiar it should be that tonight, a night with no special meaning, I find myself feeling the spark of desire to do something creative for the first time in a long time. A spark that might just become a flame. I have missed you.

A Postcard From London

Hello my lovely friends! I can not talk long as I places to go and people to meet in this lovely city of London.

I am having such a wonderful time- dancing until my feet are sore, drinking and eating in abundance and walking around in a twilight splendour.

We returned from Paris a few days ago, it was everything I always dreamed it would be and more! The spiralling streets, the beautiful people and the street screaming with history.

We meet some amazing people at Le Tape Bar in Bastille who we spent the night drinking Mojitos with and talking about the wonders of Paris. One of them decided I looked like a David Lynch character and took my picture for his Tumblr, you can check it out at www.unknownproject.tumblr.com.

Must run, Au Revoir xo

Pastel Mess

Stop me if you've heard this one before- A girl walks into a hair salon, deciding that since she is headed to Europe for the first time ever in her life she is in dire need of a little make over, in which she will be returning her currently blonde locks into some shiny strawberry blonde ones.

Four hours later and with her purse considerably a little lighter, she leaves the salon (supposedly one of the better salons in NZ) looking like an Oompa-Loompa's cousin with bright pastel orange hair. Deciding to head to a bar for a drink to drown out her sorrows, the girl is greeted by the waitress who feeling the need to say something, manages in a feeble voice "Oh I love your hair... it's different".

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives...
